About This Project

Client: Herbert Park Hotel Refit
About: Efficient Climate Control worked closely with the hotel and Lynch Interact to replace every system one by one over a 4-year period. There was very little disruption to the hotel operation. The final VRV was replaced in time for the beginning of the second big project in the hotel, a 32-room extension and apart-hotel.

The Herbert Park Hotel is an iconic hotel located in the area of Ballsbridge. Since the early 1990’s the hotel has had 20 Daikin R22 VRV systems operating to heat and cool over 150 bedrooms. In 2014, the decision was made to start replacing these with a modern, more efficient R410a systems. After 20+ years of good service, the owners insisted that they wanted to stay with Daikin and with good reason, they had very little trouble with their old systems after 2 decades of service. Efficient Climate Control worked closely with the hotel and Lynch Interact to replace every system one by one over a 4-year period. There was very little disruption to the hotel operation. The final VRV was replaced in time for the beginning of the second big project in the hotel, a 32-room extension and apart-hotel.

To make room for the extension, the VRV outdoor units were decommissioned, re-piped and moved to a new roof location. Once again, we worked with Leo Lynch  and Sisk to help keep the hotel operating while the works were completed. Four more Daikin VRV systems were installed as part of the works and a central controller fitted to allow the hotel to operate all the AC from Reception. We also supplied and fitted a Mitsubishi VRF system to the ground floor meeting rooms.
